Payroll Specialist
<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a Hi Tech Engineering organization in Mississauga, Ontario on a Contract basis. In this role, you will support accurate and timely payroll administration by reviewing payroll records, maintaining data integrity, and preparing reporting for internal use. You will work closely with payroll colleagues to help ensure payroll activities are completed in line with applicable standards and deadlines.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Enter, update, and maintain payroll information with a high level of accuracy across regular processing cycles.</p><p>• Review payroll records to identify discrepancies, verify supporting details, and help resolve issues before final processing.</p><p>• Conduct audits of payroll data to support compliance, consistency, and completeness in employee pay information.</p><p>• Prepare payroll-related reports and summaries for review, analysis, and record-keeping purposes.</p><p>• Collaborate with other payroll team members to coordinate processing activities and meet established timelines.</p><p>• Investigate payroll questions or exceptions and provide clear follow-up to support timely resolution.</p><p>• Help maintain organized payroll documentation while handling sensitive employee information with discretion.</p><p>• Contribute to continuous accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations by identifying process gaps and supporting improvements.</p>
• At least 2 years of experience working with Canadian and/or U.S. payroll processing.<br>• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within tight deadlines.<br>• Excellent attention to detail, with a consistent focus on precision and data quality.<br>• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced work environment.<br>• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team setting.<br>• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, with a discreet and confidential approach.<br>• Payroll-related certification or membership through recognized payroll organizations is considered an asset; PCP, FPC, or similar credentials are preferred.
