Project Accountant, System
<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with an aptitude for Internal Audit for a project role in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of sales-related financial transactions and tax accounts are correctly captured during a post-implementation phase. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in accounting systems and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Reconcile and verify daily sales transactions, including discounts and returns, between two platforms for the company's retail and wholesale operations.</p><p>• Compare and ensure accuracy of sales tax accounts are captured between internal tax system and main ERP, addressing any variances.</p><p>• Investigate and document the root causes of discrepancies, providing detailed reports on findings.</p><p>• Prepare and post accounting adjustments or journal entries to address identified variances.</p><p>• Identify and escalate system control issues while documenting them for resolution.</p><p>• Collaborate with the implementation team to address technical issues, including bugs, that impact system functionality.</p><p>• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for relevant financial systems as needed.</p><p>• Maintain organized and accurate records to support audits and ongoing financial reviews.</p>
• Proven experience with post-implementation financial systems, particularly Sage 300, Salesforce, and Avalara.<br>• Strong knowledge of sales transactions and their associated tax implications.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and an audit-focused mindset.<br>• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in complex financial systems.<br>• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.<br>• Familiarity with user acceptance testing (UAT) processes and techniques.<br>• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
