Financial Consultant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Financial Consultant to join our manufacturing client on a 3 month contract in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, you will provide critical support in financial accounting operations, technical accounting, and corporate reporting to drive organizational success. This position offers the opportunity to lead key financial processes, including audits, month-end and year-end close activities, and documentation of technical accounting standards.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage financial accounting operations to support strategic decision-making and enhance organizational performance.</p><p>• Provide technical expertise and leadership during critical periods such as year-end activities and operational transitions.</p><p>• Conduct in-depth research and apply complex accounting standards to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.</p><p>• Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.</p><p>• Prepare comprehensive technical accounting memoranda and process documentation to support financial conclusions.</p><p>• Lead corporate reporting efforts, including the preparation and distribution of management reports and analysis.</p><p>• Maintain accurate accounting records, including payroll, compliance preparation, and reconciliation during month-end and year-end processes.</p><p>• Implement and ensure internal controls to mitigate risks and safeguard organizational assets.</p><p>• Provide leadership and mentorship to the corporate accounting and payroll teams to achieve departmental objectives.</p><p>• Collaborate on the application of accounting treatments for complex business activities, including inventory impairment and share-based compensation.</p>
<p>Requirements:</p><p>• Strong technical expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to research and apply accounting principles.</p><p>• Demonstrated experience with month-end close activities, financial audits, and preparation of annual audited financial statements.</p><p>• Solid understanding of asset impairment, goodwill impairment, and compliance documentation.</p><p>• Proven ability to lead and manage teams, providing guidance and fostering growth.</p><p>• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex accounting scenarios.</p><p>• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.</p><p>• Prior experience with inventory accounting or similar processes is preferred but not mandatory.</p>
