Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join their team in Vancouver, British Columbia, on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting for a dynamic transportation equipment manufacturing company. Responsibilities:• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications.• Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and promptly investigate and resolve variances.• Manage intercompany accounting processes across multiple entities, including reconciliations and eliminations.• Review accounts payable transactions processed by the AP specialist and ensure accuracy.• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statement disclosures.• Compile audit binders and provide well-documented responses to external audit queries.• Analyze variances and provide insights to Finance leadership regarding key performance drivers.• Oversee revenue recording to ensure transactions are allocated to the correct entities.• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain a clear audit trail for all activities.• Collaborate with the Finance Manager and other team members to ensure seamless operations.

• Proven experience with accounting software systems and ERP platforms. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and functions, including reconciliations and variance analysis. • Familiarity with accounts payable and intercompany accounting processes. • Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and schedules. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical abilities to identify trends and resolve discrepancies. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external auditors. • Relevant post-secondary education in accounting or finance, along with certifications such as CPA (preferred).
