Our client in the professional services sector is currently seeking an experienced Controller to support them for an 18-month contract engagement. Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include: • Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project analysis and treasury management.• Identify and drive process improvements. Develop and implement financial policies & procedures and ensure alignment with organizational strategic goals.• Collaborate with other functional leads to support operational and strategic initiatives.• Identify and mitigate operation and financial risks, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations; maintain current knowledge of applicable standards & regulation and communicate updates to stakeholders.• Prepare regular management reports, consolidated finance statements in accordance with ASPE, and produce ad hoc reports as required.• Coordinate budget and forecast preparation.• Conduct financial analysis, monitor trends to provide insights for decision-making and track budget variances.• Manage external and internal audits, including responding to auditor requests.• Oversee monthly sales and use tax, NR4 withholding tax and annual tax filings.• Lead and mentor finance staff, fostering professional development and team cohesion.• Performing other responsibilities as required.

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 10+ years of progressive accounting & Controllership experience. In addition to the above, the following skills and experience are also desired: • Experience with joint venture accounting, cross border reporting, transfer pricing and tax filings is an asset.• Expertise in financial forecasting, corporate finance, and information analysis• Project accounting experience• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
