Financial Analyst - Entry Level
We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst - Entry Level to join our team in Markham, Ontario. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited to someone who is eager to build practical experience in project finance, data analysis, and financial reporting within a structured business environment. In this role, you will support the accuracy and organization of project financial information while working closely with finance, project management, and cross-functional teams. The position offers hands-on exposure to financial systems, budget tracking practices, and data quality processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Participate in training to develop a strong understanding of project financial procedures, internal tools, and data maintenance practices.<br>• Examine existing budget trackers and project financial records to identify how activities, hours, and assigned roles are organized across different service or project types.<br>• Learn how financial information is aligned between current tracking methods and a centralized financial system in preparation for data conversion activities.<br>• Enter and update project financial records accurately within designated templates and systems to support ongoing data migration work.<br>• Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or questions in financial records and communicate findings promptly to appropriate team members.<br>• Support validation efforts by checking migrated information for completeness and accuracy in collaboration with finance, project management, and other stakeholders.<br>• Assist with investigating and resolving data-related issues that affect the quality or reliability of project financial information.<br>• Contribute to ad hoc financial support tasks, reporting activities, and other administrative duties related to project data management as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.<br>• At least 1 year of experience, or equivalent academic and practical exposure, involving financial analysis, data management, or project-related support work.<br>• Ability to work independently while applying sound judgment to detailed financial and project information.<br>• Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy when handling large volumes of data.<br>• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or financial software systems.<br>• Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and provide thorough support to internal stakeholders.<br>• Understanding of budgeting, reporting, and accounting fundamentals; experience with ad hoc financial analysis or data review is an asset.<br>• Exposure to life sciences or clinical research environments is considered an advantage but is not required.
