<p><strong>Plant Controller</strong></p><p><strong>Cambridge, 5 days onsite</strong></p><p><strong>3+ months </strong></p><p>Robert Hlaf is seeking a Plant Controller for a global manufacturing client. This role is ideal for a finance leader who enjoys partnering closely with plant operations, building strong relationships with managers, and turning financial data into insights that improve performance. The Plant Controller will lead plant financial reporting, month-end close, cost accounting, and inventory oversight, while serving as a trusted business partner to plant leadership. The right candidate will understand both the numbers and the operational drivers behind them, helping the plant improve efficiency, control costs, and meet business goals.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Build strong relationships with plant managers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams</li><li>Serve as a trusted finance partner to operations, helping leaders understand results and performance drivers</li><li>Lead plant financial reporting, including daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reporting</li><li>Manage and support the month-end close process in partnership with corporate accounting</li><li>Oversee cost accounting, inventory control, and variance analysis across finished goods, WIP, protein, and dry goods inventories</li><li>Lead inventory counts and investigate discrepancies and variances</li><li>Analyze yield, throughput, and production performance to identify trends and improvement opportunities</li><li>Prepare and monitor the annual budget and analyze actual performance against plan</li><li>Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and compliance processes</li><li>Review and update Bills of Material and recipes in the ERP system</li><li>Support capital expenditure analysis and process improvement initiatives</li><li>Lead the cost accounting and plant administration team</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>• 5+ years of experience in plant finance, manufacturing accounting, or a similar controller role</p><p>• CPA designation required</p><p>• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, and month-end close</p><p>• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and cost drivers</p><p>• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams</p><p>• ERP and warehouse management systems experience preferred</p><p>• Business Intelligence tools experience is an asset</p><p>• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><p>• A finance leader who can build credibility and strong partnerships with plant teams and managers</p><p>• Someone who is highly effective in financial reporting, month-end close, and plant financial oversight</p><p>• A professional who can understand the operational side of the business, connect plant activity to financial results, and help drive better decisions</p>
