Controller
<p>We are looking for a Controller to join a manufacturing organization on a 3-month Contract in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is suited to a detail-oriented finance specialist who can lead day-to-day accounting activities while delivering timely reporting, sound cost analysis, and practical insights that support business decisions. The successful candidate will help strengthen financial controls, manage competing deadlines, and work closely with operational leaders to improve visibility into performance.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Oversee the full accounting cycle, including month-end activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of accurate financial results.</p><p>• Produce regular financial reports and ad hoc analysis for leadership, ensuring information is clear, timely, and useful for decision-making.</p><p>• Manage budgeting and forecasting activities by consolidating inputs, reviewing assumptions, and tracking performance against plan.</p><p>• Support payroll and related accounting processes to ensure records are complete, accurate, and aligned with internal requirements.</p><p>• Analyze costs, inventory activity, and operating results to identify trends, explain variances, and highlight opportunities for improved profitability.</p><p>• Maintain and enhance internal controls, reporting practices, and accounting procedures to meet evolving governance and compliance expectations.</p><p>• Partner with operational and business leaders to translate financial data into practical recommendations that support performance improvement.</p><p>• Use accounting systems and reporting tools to streamline reporting and improve data accuracy.</p><p>• Contribute to process improvements and finance-related system or reporting changes where needed to increase efficiency and consistency.</p>
<p>• An accounting designation or equivalent finance qualification is considered an asset.</p><p>• 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and month-end close</p><p>• Manufacturing accounting background (manufacturing strongly preferred)</p><p>• Strong cost accounting and inventory experience</p><p>• Partner with Operations and the GM as part of the senior leadership team</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis and communicate findings clearly to leadership teams.</p><p>• Strong Excel, systems, and data analysis skills, with experience using ERP, CRM, or related business platforms.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Robert Half uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of the process to screen, assess, or select applicants.</p>
