<p>Our client is looking for an experienced <strong>Category Analyst </strong>to join their team in Airdrie, Alberta. This role supports category strategies by working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to translate operational requirements and market insights into practical sourcing plans, commercial recommendations, and effective contract strategies. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and commercial judgment, EPC Construction experience, supplier management and sourcing expertise, and a proactive approach to improving procurement performance across assigned categories.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain category plans aligned with business requirements, market conditions, sourcing strategies, and long-term supply objectives.</li><li>Support end-to-end sourcing activities, including solicitation preparation, supplier evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiations, awards, and approvals.</li><li>Manage contract activities from drafting through renewal and close-out, including pricing, catalogues, purchasing channels, and utilization tracking.</li><li>Analyze spend, supplier capabilities, market trends, benchmarks, tariffs, and total cost factors to identify opportunities and support category decisions.</li><li>Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service, responsiveness, and risk, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.</li><li>Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable, Operations, and Procurement stakeholders to ensure compliant purchasing, accurate data, and effective contract utilization.</li><li>Support ethical sourcing, supplier due diligence, sustainability, governance, business continuity, and risk management requirements.</li><li>Deliver measurable value through cost savings and avoidance, improved service, risk reduction, working capital optimization, and increased spend under contract.</li><li>Contribute to procurement process improvements, digital tools, reporting, contract standards, and broader operational efficiencies.</li></ul>
