We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a non-profit organization through a contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who brings strong month-end close experience, works confidently with high-volume general ledger activity, and can contribute on a part-time schedule that may expand based on performance. The position offers the chance to step into a broader long-term role while helping maintain accurate financial records and reliable reporting.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage key month-end close activities, including cash, revenue, prepaid accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate reporting.<br>• Prepare and record journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and support consistent account coding across daily accounting transactions.<br>• Reconcile financial accounts and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues that affect the integrity of the monthly close process.<br>• Work within Sage Intacct to process accounting activity, maintain records, and support routine financial operations.<br>• Use Google Sheets to organize data, apply common formulas, and assist with reporting and account analysis.<br>• Contribute approximately 30 hours per week initially, with the potential to transition to a 40-hour schedule as business needs and performance align.<br>• Support tax-related accounting tasks such as corporate tax, sales tax, and related financial documentation as needed.<br>• Adapt quickly to internal tools and workflows while providing dependable accounting support that may grow into a permanent position.
