As part of this transition, the organization is seeking a senior-level Payroll Leader to own and guide the migration, stabilization, and long-term success of the payroll function.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a highly visible, hands-on role ideal for a seasoned payroll management professional who has experience leading payroll transformations, building processes from the ground up, and operating as both a strategic advisor and an operational leader.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead the end-to-end payroll transition as part of the broader HQ relocation and “lift-and-shift” initiative</li><li>Serve as the local payroll subject-matter expert, owning payroll operations during and after the transition</li><li>Build, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes, ensuring scalability, compliance, and operational excellence</li><li>Advise and consult leadership on best practices related to payroll structure, governance, controls, and process design</li><li>Act as a strong people and process leader—jumping in as needed to support day-to-day payroll activities while the function is being established</li><li>Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and external partners to ensure seamless execution and alignment</li><li>Help shape the payroll function long-term, laying the foundation for a sustainable and well-governed operation in the new location</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Ideal Candidate Profile</p><ul><li>Proven experience in payroll leadership (Manager, Director, or VP-level), with deep hands-on payroll knowledge</li><li>Demonstrated success building or transforming payroll operations, including process design and SOP development</li><li>Experience supporting organizational change, relocations, system transitions, or large-scale payroll projects strongly preferred</li><li>Comfortable operating in a consultative, advisory capacity while remaining highly execution-focused</li><li>Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, guide, and support cross-functional teams</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through</li><li>Exposure to Paycom is a plus, but not must-have </li><li>Local to the Portland/Vancouver area, with the ability to be onsite and embedded with the team</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Culture & Environment</p><p>Culture fit is critically important to this organization.
