- We are looking for an Import Cost Compliance Analyst to support import documentation and cost validation activities for a leading retail organization in Manhattan Beach, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can manage high-volume shipping records, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain accurate compliance standards across international transactions. The role works closely with production, costing, logistics, and external partners to keep import processes moving efficiently while meeting documentation and regulatory requirements.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Examine import and shipping documentation for multiple product categories, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance before approval.<br>• Investigate exceptions, identify recurring document or pricing issues, and take action to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.<br>• Validate charges, pricing details, and supporting records against internal cost data, surcharge references, and related compliance materials.<br>• Process manual invoices and prepare structured upload files for use in business systems and reporting workflows.<br>• Communicate with internal teams, vendors, agents, and overseas partners to request corrections and clarify order or pricing concerns.<br>• Oversee compliance activity for subsidiary or specialized accounts that involve added documentation steps, regulatory review, or closer operational control.<br>• Partner with freight forwarders and customs brokers to confirm rates, support approvals, and facilitate licensing or customs clearance for complex shipments.<br>• Compare final shipping documents to preliminary records used in import licensing to ensure alignment and regulatory accuracy.<br>• Provide day-to-day guidance to team members who are new to the role while helping maintain organized filing and department records.
