We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in New York, New York on a Contract basis. This role supports day-to-day accounting activities across multiple affiliated entities, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with cash and expense administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with accounting systems, banking platforms, and internal stakeholders in an organized office environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review invoices, receipts, and supporting records to confirm completeness, accuracy, and proper coding before processing.<br>• Record financial activity in journals and ledgers, ensuring transactions are entered correctly and reflected in a timely manner.<br>• Investigate variances, reconcile discrepancies, and follow up on unusual items to help maintain reliable accounting data.<br>• Process routine accounting tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support as assigned.<br>• Examine employee expense submissions and travel-related reimbursements in the expense system to verify policy compliance and documentation.<br>• Monitor daily cash activity, assist with banking documentation, and prepare information needed for interest-related calculations.<br>• Maintain authorized bank signer records and coordinate updates to online banking access and user permissions when changes are requested.<br>• Communicate with banking service providers to resolve account access issues, transaction questions, and other operational matters.<br>• Support accurate financial recordkeeping by following established accounting procedures and internal controls.<br>• Provide additional accounting assistance to related entities and complete special assignments from finance leadership as needed.
