We are looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join a government agency within the Health and Human Services Department in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This is a long-term contract role that offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial and administrative operations of the department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in managing budgets, records, and scheduling tasks.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Provide direct support to the department director, assisting with administrative and financial tasks.<br>• Oversee the department calendar, managing appointments and scheduling meetings effectively.<br>• Maintain accurate records and organize files to ensure seamless access to departmental information.<br>• Review and analyze reports to identify discrepancies or areas requiring attention.<br>• Act as a liaison on budget matters, offering insights and guidance to ensure financial accuracy.<br>• Prepare detailed budgets and monitor monthly revenue and expenses for the department.<br>• Track expenditures and revenues to ensure compliance with allocated budgets.<br>• Lead administrative support initiatives, coordinating efforts within the department's support pool.
