We are looking for a skilled Consumer Lender - Support team member to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee the loan intake process, ensuring applications are processed accurately and efficiently from start to finish. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization while providing excellent service to our members.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage the loan application process, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.<br>• Conduct interviews with loan applicants to gather relevant background information and evaluate credit reports.<br>• Assess loan applications to determine creditworthiness, repayment ability, and compliance with lending policies.<br>• Follow established lending authority limits and internal policies to approve, deny, or provide counteroffers for loan applications.<br>• Support Loan Processors by verifying income, collecting necessary documents, and ensuring proper lien perfection activities.<br>• Perform quality reviews of loan files to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal procedures.<br>• Promote credit union products and services tailored to meet members' financial needs.<br>• Monitor the loan origination system to manage application queues, ensuring timely decisions.<br>• Prepare and issue Adverse Action notices to applicants within the required timeframes.<br>• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced loan officers, processors, and other team members to enhance departmental performance.
