<p>We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Systems Administrator to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the life insurance industry, supporting and optimizing mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe environments and a strong background in programming and system management. THIS ROLE CAN BE REMOTE IN THE SURROUNDING STATES OF IOWA</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage and maintain mainframe systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.</p><p>• Develop, test, and implement COBOL programs to support organizational needs.</p><p>• Administer and configure mainframe technologies, including z/OS and CICS environments.</p><p>• Monitor and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and effective troubleshooting.</p><p>• Write and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and system operations.</p><p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and implement new features.</p><p>• Utilize CA-7 software to schedule and manage job workflows efficiently.</p><p>• Perform system upgrades and patches to maintain security and functionality.</p><p>• Analyze system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.</p><p>• Document procedures and provide training for team members on mainframe operations.</p>

• Minimum of 7 years of experience working with mainframe systems and programming.<br>• Proficiency in COBOL across all versions, with strong programming skills.<br>• Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe environments and technologies.<br>• In-depth knowledge of CICS and z/OS systems.<br>• Expertise in JCL scripting and MVS JCL operations.<br>• Familiarity with CA-7 software for job scheduling and workflow management.<br>• Understanding of assembler language and its application in mainframe systems.<br>• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
