Assistant Controller
<p>We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations for multiple properties. This is a long-term contract position in the hospitality industry offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial success of the organization.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including monthly closings, preparation of profit and loss statements, and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned properties.</p><p>• Conduct detailed variance analyses and implement corrective measures to address discrepancies.</p><p>• Ensure strong internal controls are maintained, including cash management, capital expenditure tracking, and compliance with audit requirements.</p><p>• Manage financial operations such as cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable/payable, and purchasing, with proactive identification of potential risks.</p><p>• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports in accordance with US GAAP standards.</p><p>• Monitor and optimize financial procedures to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.</p><p>• Collaborate with stakeholders to support budgeting and forecasting processes.</p><p>• Facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and support.</p><p>• Identify and address areas for improvement within financial systems and processes.</p>
• Proven experience in accounting functions, including month-end closings and general ledger management.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting practices and US GAAP standards.<br>• Demonstrated ability to analyze variances and propose effective solutions.<br>• Expertise in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow operations.<br>• Proficiency in handling complex financial reconciliations and audits.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Effective communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
