We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This short-term contract position offers the opportunity to utilize your accounting expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a vital part of the accounting department, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the organization's day-to-day operations. This role is required onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL. Responsibilities:• Perform comprehensive reconciliation of multiple bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy.• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.• Utilize Excel, Workday, and banking platforms to execute daily accounting tasks.• Ensure compliance with corporate tax requirements, including sales tax and corporate tax return filings.• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.• Conduct detailed cash reconciliations to support financial reporting.• Collaborate with the corporate controller and other team members to streamline accounting processes.• Adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.• Assist in other accounting tasks as needed to support departmental goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and financial transactions.• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling bank statements.• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Workday and advanced Excel skills.• Familiarity with corporate tax regulations and sales tax processes.• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
