Loan Processor - Support (On-Site)
We are looking for a highly organized Loan Processor - Support specialist to join our on-site team in California. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage real estate loan files with precision, maintain momentum across the lending pipeline, and deliver a smooth experience for applicants and internal partners. The role supports residential mortgage processing from documentation review through status tracking while ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage residential real estate loan files from initial intake through final processing, making sure each application moves forward efficiently and accurately.<br>• Examine submitted applications and supporting records to confirm all required information is complete, consistent, and ready for underwriting review.<br>• Gather, validate, and organize key borrower and property documents such as income records, credit information, appraisals, and title-related materials.<br>• Enter and maintain loan data within origination and servicing systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to compliance requirements.<br>• Communicate proactively with loan officers, underwriters, and applicants to resolve outstanding conditions, clarify documentation needs, and prevent delays.<br>• Respond to borrower questions throughout the lending process with clear, attentive service that supports a positive customer experience.<br>• Review loan packages for quality and regulatory adherence, helping reduce documentation gaps, processing errors, and compliance risk.<br>• Monitor pipeline activity and prepare status updates or production reports for leadership, including turnaround times, pending files, and overall volume.<br>• Partner with the broader lending team to strengthen processing workflows and contribute to ongoing training and operational improvement efforts.
• At least 2 years of experience processing residential mortgage or real estate loans.<br>• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.<br>• Working knowledge of mortgage lending practices and common loan programs, including conventional and government-backed products.<br>• Experience with loan origination platforms and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar business software.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple files at once while maintaining accuracy, organization, and follow-through.<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with applicants and internal lending partners.<br>• Familiarity with loan administration, mortgage processing, mortgage closing, mortgage lending, and loan origination activities.<br>• Prior experience in a credit union or community bank environment is preferred.
