Controller
<p>Our non-profit client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area has an opening for an Interim Controller. The Interim Controller will oversee accounting operations and compliance, drive process improvements, and provide strategic financial insights to leadership. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, with Mondays and Fridays remote, and Tuesdays through Thursdays on-site.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor relationships, and maintaining internal controls.</p><p>• Oversee nonprofit accounting processes, such as fund accounting, revenue recognition, and grant tracking, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.</p><p>• Collaborate with the Development team to accurately record and reconcile fundraising transactions.</p><p>• Utilize and maintain proficiency in financial systems like Sage Intacct and DonorPerfect to ensure data integrity and system integration.</p><p>• Prepare and present financial reports to the Board Finance Committee, Network Finance Peer Group, and other stakeholders.</p><p>• Mentor and lead finance team members to foster growth and strengthen team capabilities.</p><p>• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement updated financial policies.</p><p>• Partner with senior leadership and finance directors to promote best practices across the organization.</p><p>• Stay informed about nonprofit financial regulations and share relevant updates with leadership.</p><p>• Support audit activities and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.</p><p><br></p><p>If you are interested in this Interim Controller opening, please email your resume in a Word format to joseph.colagiacomo@roberthalf with the subject line &quot;Interim Controller-Non-Profit&quot;</p>
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector.<br>• Proficiency in month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.<br>• Expertise in grant accounting and compliance.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage audit processes and activities.<br>• Strong knowledge of Sage Intacct and DonorPerfect systems is highly preferred.<br>• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to guide finance team members.<br>• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.<br>• Solid understanding of nonprofit financial best practices and regulations.
