We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support and enhance a modern Microsoft cloud environment for a long-term contract role based in Santa Ana, California. This position will focus on strengthening Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, and enterprise security while improving reliability, governance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across cloud engineering, identity management, and automation, along with the ability to guide technical decisions and resolve complex platform issues. Responsibilities: • Build, configure, and maintain Azure resources across compute, networking, storage, identity, and security domains to support business-critical operations. • Oversee the Microsoft 365 tenant as a senior administrator, managing licensing, policy enforcement, compliance settings, and overall service performance. • Administer core Office 365 platforms such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive, ensuring stable service delivery and effective user collaboration. • Manage and enhance Microsoft Teams capabilities, including calling features, meeting standards, room systems, governance controls, and connected solutions. • Lead identity and access administration through Microsoft Entra ID by maintaining conditional access, role-based permissions, and secure authentication practices. • Implement and manage security and compliance technologies including Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Intune to protect cloud assets and support regulatory needs. • Create and refine PowerShell-based automations and operational workflows that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across cloud administration tasks. • Contribute to architecture planning, technical evaluations, and cloud strategy discussions to align platform capabilities with organizational goals. • Monitor cloud health, utilization, and spend, then recommend and apply improvements that increase performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency. • Drive advanced incident resolution efforts, perform root cause analysis, maintain technical documentation, and provide mentorship to less experienced IT team members.

• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure administration with significant responsibility for Microsoft cloud technologies. • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure deployment, platform administration, and service optimization. • Proven experience administering Microsoft Entra ID and broader IAM controls, including conditional access and role-based access management. • Demonstrated ability to support Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams in an enterprise environment. • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for cloud operations, maintenance, and process improvement. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and practices, including Terraform and Azure DevOps-oriented delivery workflows. • Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, monitoring, and troubleshooting within a Microsoft-centric ecosystem. • Ability to document technical environments clearly and communicate effectively while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
