Fund Controller
We are looking for an experienced Fund Controller to support a private equity organization in San Francisco, California during a maternity leave coverage assignment. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can oversee fund-level accounting, reporting, and control activities with minimal ramp-up time. The role requires strong private equity expertise, sound technical accounting judgment, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic investment environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct fund accounting and controllership activities for private equity vehicles, ensuring accurate financial records and timely period-end closes.<br>• Prepare and review investor reporting, capital activity schedules, and financial statements in line with partnership agreements and reporting deadlines.<br>• Oversee cash movements, reconciliations, and fund transactions to support accurate tracking of investments, expenses, and distributions.<br>• Coordinate with internal finance partners, external administrators, auditors, and other service providers to support reporting and compliance needs.<br>• Monitor internal controls and resolve accounting issues by applying strong technical knowledge within a private equity fund structure.<br>• Provide coverage for day-to-day fund controller responsibilities during the leave period while maintaining continuity across key finance processes.<br>• Support process-related updates or operational changes, when needed, as part of ongoing fund accounting responsibilities.
• 10+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund controllership, or related finance leadership roles.<br>• Demonstrated background in private equity and private equity fund structures.<br>• CPA designation required.<br>• Strong controllership expertise with the ability to manage fund-level accounting and reporting responsibilities independently.<br>• Advanced understanding of financial statements, partnership accounting, and investor reporting requirements.<br>• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
