<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong> The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and managing healthcare billing information for medical practices, clinics, or hospitals. This role ensures that insurance claims are correctly coded, submitted, and followed up to maximize reimbursements and minimize errors. Medical Billing Specialists serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies, helping to resolve billing issues and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Review, verify, and process medical billing data for insurance claims and patient invoices, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.</li><li>Utilize coding systems and billing software to enter fees, procedures, diagnoses, and other required healthcare details.</li><li>Submit claims to insurance carriers and governmental payers in a timely manner, and monitor outstanding payments.</li><li>Follow up on denied or unpaid claims by communicating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to facilitate resolution.</li><li>Research and provide clarification for billing questions and discrepancies, maintaining high standards of customer service.</li><li>Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws (such as HIPAA), and payer guidelines.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance rules, billing code changes, and industry best practices.</li><li>Prepare and distribute regular billing reports to management or appropriate staff.</li><li>Work collaboratively with the accounting, medical records, and customer service teams to promptly resolve issues and support overall office workflow.</li></ul><p><br></p>
