<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee document management processes and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of record-keeping systems. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, excels in organizing, scanning, and maintaining critical documentation. Join our team in Oakland, California, and contribute to a structured and reliable workflow.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Oversee core accounting operations (GL, AR/AP, reconciliations, PO controls).</p><p> • Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and reporting.</p><p> • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, performance tracking, and financial improvements.</p><p> • Manage and mentor the accounting team; promote a high-performance culture.</p><p> • Coordinate financial reporting for internal teams and external stakeholders.</p><p> • Lead audits and tax filings; serve as primary contact with external auditors and the Audit Committee.</p><p> • Oversee cash flow and bank relationships with the CFO.</p><p> • Administer financial systems and provide user training.</p><p> • Establish and enforce accounting policies, controls, and regulatory compliance.</p><p> • Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory changes.</p>

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.</p><p> • 5+ years of Controller experience, preferably in nonprofit, construction, or similar organizations with $20MM+ budgets.</p><p> • Proven leader with strong team-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.</p><p> • Deep expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.</p><p> • Strong financial systems and data analysis skills; systems administration experience a plus.</p><p> • Highly organized, analytical, and effective in fast-paced environments.</p><p> • Authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship available.</p>
