We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will oversee a variety of financial tasks, including preparing statements, analyzing data, and reconciling accounts. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards while contributing to the organization’s financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities:• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports to reflect the company’s performance.• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making.• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.• Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes.• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.• Monitor profit and loss statements and assist in evaluating the financial health of the organization.• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and other regulatory requirements.• Assist in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings.• Utilize accounting software, such as Great Plains, to streamline financial processes and reporting. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting. • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Great Plains (GPAC), and strong familiarity with budgeting and forecasting. • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and corporate tax procedures. • Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries with accuracy. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure precision in financial data. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues across departments. • Experience in the retail or grocery sector is a plus but not mandatory.
