We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support accounting operations and help maintain accurate, timely financial reporting for the organization in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This role partners closely with finance leadership to oversee closing activities, strengthen general ledger integrity, and contribute to audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, hands-on accounting expertise, and experience working in a retail environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Lead key components of the monthly close process to ensure deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately<br>• Review and reconcile general ledger activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner<br>• Prepare internal and external financial reports that provide clear insight into business performance and compliance<br>• Support financial statement audits by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining strong supporting records<br>• Assist in maintaining accounting controls, policies, and procedures that promote accuracy and consistency across reporting activities<br>• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, explain results, and improve reporting processes where needed<br>• Analyze account activity and reporting trends to identify variances, risks, and opportunities for process improvement

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</p><p>• Proven experience in accounting or corporate finance, including responsibility for month-end close activities</p><p>• Strong working knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting practices</p><p>• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing audit documentation</p><p>• Background in retail accounting required</p><p>• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreperational </p><p>• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively</p><p><br></p><p>Email directly for more info: Bryan.Thierfelder@roberthalf com</p>
