<p>Data Architect (Product & Commerce Data)</p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Data Architect</strong> to lead the design, structure, and governance of product and consumer-facing data across a modern digital commerce ecosystem. This individual will play a critical role in shaping how product data is modeled, integrated, and delivered to create a seamless and personalized customer experience.</p><p>This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering with digital, product, marketing, and data governance teams to ensure data consistency, scalability, and usability across platforms.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Architect and optimize <strong>product and consumer data models</strong> to support a dynamic B2C digital experience</li><li>Serve as the <strong>technical owner of product content and commerce data architecture</strong>, ensuring stability and scalability</li><li>Design and manage integrations between <strong>product data systems and digital commerce platforms</strong></li><li>Partner with Product Owners, content teams, and developers to bring product data to life across digital channels</li><li>Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current data structures and recommend <strong>enhancements vs. full rebuilds</strong></li><li>Establish and enforce <strong>data governance, data quality, and stewardship best practices</strong></li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to align <strong>product data strategy with customer experience goals</strong></li><li>Support the evolution of a multi-phase digital transformation, including ongoing enhancements to web and commerce platforms</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Day-to-Day</strong></p><ul><li>Evaluate and refine product data structures to ensure consistency across platforms</li><li>Work hands-on with architecture and integration challenges between systems</li><li>Collaborate across business and technical teams to translate product complexity into scalable data models</li><li>Support ongoing content migration and platform enhancements</li><li>Act as a key voice in bridging <strong>business needs and technical execution</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Must-Have Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Strong experience with <strong>Product Content Management (PCM/PIM)</strong> systems</li><li>Hands-on expertise with <strong>Adobe Commerce (Magento)</strong> or similar commerce platforms</li><li>Proven ability to design and maintain <strong>scalable, stable product data models</strong></li><li>Experience integrating product data into CMS and digital experience platforms</li><li>Deep understanding of <strong>data architecture, data governance, and system integrations</strong></li><li>Ability to assess existing environments and recommend <strong>incremental improvements vs. full redesigns</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in <strong>B2C environments</strong> with complex product configurations</li><li>Background in industries such as <strong>retail, consumer goods, or automotive</strong></li><li>Familiarity with enterprise ecosystems (e.g., ERP, CRM, or similar platforms)</li><li>Experience working within large-scale digital transformation initiatives</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What Success Looks Like</strong></p><ul><li>Product data is clean, structured, and easily consumable across all digital touchpoints</li><li>Seamless integration between commerce, content, and backend systems</li><li>Improved ability for customers to <strong>customize and interact with products online</strong></li><li>Strong alignment between data architecture and business outcomes</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Interview Focus Areas</strong></p><p>Candidates should be prepared to discuss:</p><ul><li>How they’ve improved or stabilized existing product data ecosystems</li><li>Their approach to solving complex <strong>PCM and commerce platform integrations</strong></li><li>Examples of balancing <strong>enhancement vs. rebuild decisions</strong></li><li>Experience making product data more usable and impactful for end customers</li></ul><p><br></p>
