Instructional Designer
<p>Position Overview</p><p>The <strong>Training and Adoption Lead</strong> is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the learning and performance support program for the updated Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role translates approved processes into practical, role-based learning experiences that enable employees to successfully perform their responsibilities. The position oversees training needs analysis, curriculum development, learning materials, delivery, proficiency assessments, go-live support, and post-launch adoption activities.</p><p>WKey Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Conduct training needs analyses using future-state processes, stakeholder impacts, and role responsibilities.</li><li>Develop role-to-training matrices, curriculum plans, learning objectives, course sequencing, prerequisites, and delivery strategies.</li><li>Create SDLC training materials, including:</li><li>Handbooks</li><li>Facilitator guides</li><li>Participant guides</li><li>Job aids</li><li>Checklists</li><li>Process walkthroughs</li><li>Develop instructional videos, demonstrations, recorded sessions, microlearning modules, and scenario-based learning materials.</li><li>Design and deliver instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and blended learning solutions.</li><li>Create knowledge checks, proficiency assessments, practice exercises, and course evaluations.</li><li>Coordinate subject matter expert (SME) reviews, testing, approvals, publication, and version control.</li><li>Pilot training with representative users and incorporate feedback into final training materials.</li><li>Develop train-the-trainer resources and manager reinforcement materials.</li><li>Manage go-live support activities, including:</li><li>Office hours</li><li>Microsoft Teams support</li><li>Question triage</li><li>Escalation management</li><li>FAQs</li><li>Knowledge articles</li><li>Track training metrics, including enrollment, completion rates, assessment scores, learner confidence, support trends, and adoption indicators.</li><li>Coordinate training logistics, including environments, system access, scheduling, enrollment, facilitator coordination, and delivery planning.</li><li>Define proficiency standards, remediation plans, exemption/equivalency rules, and required acknowledgements where applicable.</li><li>Integrate SDLC training into new hire, contractor, vendor, and refresher training programs.</li><li>Ensure learning materials comply with accessibility, localization, reporting, and data retention requirements.</li><li>Transition training assets and support processes to long-term business owners after implementation.</li></ul>
<p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Business, Technology, or a related field.</li><li>4+ years of experience designing and delivering training for process improvement or technology transformation initiatives.</li><li>Experience developing:</li><li>Training curricula</li><li>Instructor-led training (ILT)</li><li>Virtual instructor-led training (VILT)</li><li>Job aids</li><li>Handbooks</li><li>Digital learning content</li><li>Strong instructional writing, facilitation, presentation, and content development skills.</li><li>Experience conducting training needs analyses and developing role-based learning programs.</li><li>Proven ability to translate complex business or technical processes into practical, performance-focused learning experiences.</li></ul><p>•Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience supporting Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, cybersecurity, IT governance, or process compliance initiatives.</li><li>Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, including <strong>ADDIE</strong>.</li><li>Experience using learning and collaboration tools such as:</li><li>Guidde</li><li>Microsoft Teams</li><li>SharePoint</li><li>Camtasia</li><li>Comparable learning or content development platforms</li><li>Experience developing proficiency measurements, managing office hours or hypercare support, and facilitating communities of practice.</li></ul>
