Controller
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Controller to manage the financial operations of our organization in Hobbs, New Mexico. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving improvements in operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of oil and gas service industry practices.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and collections.<br>• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end closings and journal entries.<br>• Prepare and present financial analyses, budgets, and projections to senior management.<br>• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations.<br>• Collaborate with operations teams to provide actionable financial insights for business decisions.<br>• Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering growth and efficiency.<br>• Manage quarterly tax projections and liaise with external parties for annual tax filings.<br>• Evaluate and streamline accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.<br>• Ensure the accurate billing of oil and gas operators while understanding their unique systems and portals.<br>• Oversee cash flow management to align with the organization's operational needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.<br>• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in oil and gas services.<br>• Proven ability to lead and manage small teams effectively.<br>• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and internal controls.<br>• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar accounting software.<br>• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement.<br>• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.<br>• Willingness to travel to the company headquarters as needed.
