Controller
<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Hagerstown, Maryland, on a contract basis for 2–3 months. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative work environment while tackling key financial tasks.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage and lead the month-end closing process, ensuring precise and prompt financial reporting.</p><p>• Prepare and record journal entries, maintaining the accuracy of general ledger accounts.</p><p>• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations using Sage Intacct.</p><p>• Address and resolve payroll accounting challenges across multiple states.</p><p>• Support and enhance documentation for new accounting workflows and process improvements.</p><p>• Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and construction accounting responsibilities.</p><p>• Collaborate closely with the on-site finance and accounting team, providing expertise during system transitions.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.<br>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in month-end close processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations within a multi-entity environment.<br>• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or comparable centralized accounting systems.<br>• Knowledge of construction accounting practices and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting is highly desirable.<br>• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and organizational abilities.<br>• Familiarity with multi-state payroll systems and processes.<br>• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to support financial analysis and reporting.<br>• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment.
