We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage financial operations for our organization based in Fontana, California. This role requires a hands-on leader who is well-versed in construction industry accounting practices and capable of driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, team leadership, and strategic planning.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.<br>• Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.<br>• Develop and maintain job costing and retention accounting systems tailored to the construction industry.<br>• Implement effective indirect cost and equipment allocation strategies.<br>• Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.<br>• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.<br>• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency across financial operations.<br>• Collaborate with operational teams to align financial strategies with business goals.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel skills and construction accounting software to optimize reporting and analysis.<br>• Train and mentor accounting staff, supporting their growth and development.

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</p><p>• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably within construction.</p><p>• Expertise in job costing, retention accounting, and indirect cost allocation.</p><p>• Proven ability to manage AP, AR, and payroll teams effectively.</p><p>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction-specific accounting systems.</p><p>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.</p><p>• Comfort working in a fast-paced and operationally focused environment.</p><p>• Knowledge of financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting processes.</p>
