We are looking for a skilled Hyper-V Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Crystal Lake, Illinois. In this role, you will design and implement a new Hyper-V environment while ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the manufacturing industry, offering a chance to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and implement a comprehensive Hyper-V environment, including clusters, storage configurations, and networking setups.<br>• Oversee the migration of virtual machines from VMware to Hyper-V using tools such as Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter, System Center Virtual Machine Manager, or Azure Migrate.<br>• Create and execute PowerShell scripts to automate deployment, monitoring, and reporting processes.<br>• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during live migration and post-migration phases.<br>• Optimize performance for Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines to ensure reliability and efficiency.<br>• Document all configurations, procedures, and insights gained during the project.<br>• Train internal IT staff on maintaining and managing the newly established Hyper-V infrastructure.<br>• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration with the organization’s existing systems.

• Proficiency in managing and configuring Hyper-V environments.<br>• Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.<br>• Familiarity with virtualization tools such as System Center Virtual Machine Manager and Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter.<br>• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and related cloud services.<br>• Expertise in writing and utilizing PowerShell scripts for automation.<br>• Understanding of infrastructure security and global IT operations.<br>• Hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure and migration processes.<br>• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues effectively.
