<p><strong>Senior API & Integration Engineer</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Columbus, OH (Hybrid, 4x Onsite) </p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> 26 Week Contract </p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking highly skilled and innovative engineers to join our team in building best-in-class enterprise APIs and production infrastructure that deliver performance, scalability, and reliability. Under the guidance of our Development Manager, you will play a key role in designing and implementing modern integration solutions that power mission-critical systems.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design and develop modern REST APIs using <strong>Java Spring Boot</strong>, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-enabled services (containers on-prem and in the cloud).</li><li>Collaborate with architects and engineers to create a unified API layer across diverse data sources and applications using an agile, sprint-based approach.</li><li>Assist with system and software design, including:</li><li>Server architecture, availability, disaster recovery planning, and production deployments.</li><li>Database schema design, data mapping, storage efficiency, and considerations for relational and NoSQL databases.</li><li>API design (call signatures, schema, business logic, resilience, logging, and supportability).</li><li>Implement enterprise services and APIs, integrating them into continuous delivery and integration pipelines.</li><li>Work on <strong>Kafka</strong> for use case analysis, environment setup, and data enrichment/transformations.</li><li>Develop and maintain automated unit tests and integration tests.</li><li>Partner with cross-functional teams, vendor partners, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.</li><li>Continuously evolve integration processes and adopt emerging technologies.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Education:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent work experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience & Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>7+ years of software development experience, including building and maintaining application interfaces between various data sources and applications.</li><li>Strong Java development experience, including <strong>Spring Framework</strong>, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.</li><li>Hands-on experience with API development using Java or similar object-oriented languages.</li><li>Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.</li><li>1+ years of experience with <strong>DevOps</strong> practices.</li><li>Strong understanding of agile methodologies.</li><li>Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage complex tasks in a dynamic environment.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with REST, JSON, or SOAP web interfaces.</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies.</li><li>Experience with Chef, Puppet, or similar deployment automation tools.</li><li>Knowledge of Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit).</li><li>Experience with <strong>Kafka</strong> and cloud technologies.</li><li>Exposure to RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.</li></ul><p><br></p>
