<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Database Administrator (AWS & On-Prem) – Contract Assignment</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid in Charlotte, NC</p><p><strong>Type:</strong> Contract Assignment 6 Months+</p><p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $65 – $75 per hour (W-2)</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Overview:</strong></p><p>Robert Half is seeking a skilled <strong>Database Administrator (DBA)</strong> for a <strong>temporary contract assignment</strong> supporting our client’s hybrid data environment. This role requires expertise in both <strong>AWS cloud databases</strong> and <strong>traditional on-premise systems</strong>, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing, tuning, and troubleshooting diverse database environments while supporting business-critical applications.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Administer, configure, and maintain databases across AWS cloud and on-prem environments.</li><li>Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure system optimization.</li><li>Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for hybrid database systems.</li><li>Support migration, integration, and replication activities between on-premise databases and AWS.</li><li>Ensure security and compliance standards are followed across environments.</li><li>Provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution for database issues.</li><li>Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure staff, and stakeholders to support ongoing operations.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a Database Administrator in hybrid AWS and on-prem environments.</li><li>Strong knowledge of <strong>AWS RDS, Aurora, EC2-hosted databases</strong>, and on-prem systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar).</li><li>Experience with database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.</li><li>Familiarity with replication, high availability, and failover clustering.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice-to-Have Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.).</li><li>Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).</li><li>Knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for database automation.</li></ul><p><br></p>
