We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Brookings, South Dakota. This role involves overseeing crucial accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, and supporting audit activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as proficiency in Oracle systems.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage monthly and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.<br>• Supervise and provide guidance to accounting clerks, fostering efficiency and accuracy in their work.<br>• Assist with the preparation and review of general ledger entries and financial statements.<br>• Support both internal and external audit activities by organizing and providing necessary documentation.<br>• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial operations.<br>• Collaborate with the Controller to address complex accounting issues and implement solutions.<br>• Prepare detailed reports for management, offering insights into financial performance.<br>• Monitor and improve processes within the accounting department to streamline operations.<br>• Utilize Oracle software for efficient management of financial data and analysis.<br>• Contribute to the development and execution of long-term financial strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Proven experience in month-end and year-end close processes.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.<br>• Familiarity with financial audits and reporting procedures.<br>• Proficiency in Oracle systems for accounting and financial management.<br>• Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage accounting teams effectively.<br>• Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights.<br>• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
