Data Analyst
We are looking for a Data Analyst to support a financial services organization in Boston, Massachusetts through a Long-term Contract engagement. This position focuses on portfolio and investment data within a private equity setting, helping teams improve reporting accuracy, streamline data processes, and turn complex business needs into reliable technical solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, hands-on experience with Chronograph, and the ability to work closely with investment, finance, operations, and technology partners.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage the collection, organization, and maintenance of portfolio-company data to support reporting and analysis across private equity and alternative investment activities.<br>• Translate business objectives into clear data definitions, rules, and technical requirements for reporting and workflow improvements.<br>• Perform data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple data sources.<br>• Partner with investment professionals, finance teams, portfolio operations, and technology stakeholders to deliver dependable data solutions aligned with business priorities.<br>• Monitor data quality, investigate inconsistencies, and drive issue resolution through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.<br>• Support reporting processes by preparing and validating financial, operational, and investment-related datasets and key performance indicators.<br>• Use tools such as Snowflake and Microsoft Azure to assist with data processing, storage, and analysis in a controlled environment.<br>• Contribute to data migration and workflow enhancement initiatives where portfolio and investment data must be integrated or restructured.
• Prior experience working directly with private equity, alternative investments, or portfolio-company data environments.<br>• Hands-on knowledge of Chronograph in a detail-focused setting, preferably supporting private market data and reporting needs.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in data migration, data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.<br>• Working knowledge of Snowflake and Microsoft Azure for data-related tasks and analysis.<br>• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial, operational, and investment datasets and related KPIs.<br>• Ability to convert business requests into structured technical data requirements and practical reporting solutions.<br>• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across investment, finance, operations, and technology teams.<br>• Proven ability to identify data-quality issues independently and follow them through to resolution.
