Assistant Controller
We are looking for a skilled Assistant Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Bloomington, Minnesota. This position is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented accounting specialist who can take charge of month-end close processes, oversee reconciliations, and provide leadership to a small team of accountants. The role is expected to last three to four months, with the potential for a permanent opportunity based on performance.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage and oversee month-end close processes for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.<br>• Perform and review complex balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions.<br>• Provide leadership and daily work direction to staff accountants, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.<br>• Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting across all entities.<br>• Collaborate with accounting leadership to maintain continuity and support during transitional periods.<br>• Identify and address discrepancies or inefficiencies in accounting processes.<br>• Assist in preparing for financial statement audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.<br>• Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.<br>• Support the development of improved accounting practices and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
<p>• A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience with a focus on month-end close processes.</p><p>• Demonstrated expertise in managing intercompany transactions and complex reconciliations.</p><p>• Proven ability to lead and mentor staff accountants effectively.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.</p><p>• Experience with financial statement audits and compliance with regulatory standards.</p><p>• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, onsite work environment.</p><p>• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</p><p><br></p>
