<p><strong>Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Urgent Project – Onsite)</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Madison, WI</p><p> <strong>Work Type:</strong> Onsite, full-time (project-based)</p><p> <strong>Start:</strong> ASAP (urgent need)</p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are partnering with a Madison-based client on an <strong>urgent, onsite infrastructure project</strong> and are seeking a <strong>Senior Infrastructure Engineer</strong> with strong hands-on experience in <strong>physical server environments, Hyper-V, Veeam disaster recovery, and Active Directory migrations</strong>.</p><p>This role is highly technical and execution-focused, working alongside an existing administrator to <strong>clean up, migrate, and modernize the environment</strong> prior to and during infrastructure moves.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing (Typical Day/Week)</strong></p><ul><li>Rack, stack, and physically move servers and infrastructure hardware</li><li>Build and configure <strong>Hyper-V clusters</strong></li><li>Install, configure, and operationalize <strong>Veeam Enterprise Backup</strong></li><li>Implement and manage <strong>Veeam Orchestrator</strong> for automated backup, recovery, and DR workflows</li><li>Execute <strong>disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery procedures</strong></li><li>Perform <strong>Active Directory server migrations</strong></li><li>Partner with the current system administrator to clean up and prepare environments before migration</li><li>Support networking efforts, including <strong>Fortinet / FortiGate firewall configuration</strong>, as needed</li><li>Participate in infrastructure cutovers and post-migration validation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)</strong></p><ul><li>Strong experience with <strong>Microsoft Hyper-V</strong> (clustered environments)</li><li><strong>Veeam Enterprise Backup</strong> expertise, with a <strong>heavy focus on Orchestrator</strong></li><li>Backup automation</li><li>Scripted recovery workflows</li><li>Disaster recovery testing and execution</li><li>Proven <strong>disaster recovery experience</strong> (this is critical)</li><li><strong>Active Directory server migration</strong> experience</li><li>Hands-on comfort in <strong>physical data center environments</strong></li><li>Ability to work fully <strong>onsite</strong> in Madison, WI and start immediately</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to Have / Plus Skills</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Fortinet networking experience</strong>, including FortiGate firewalls</li><li><strong>IBM FlashSystem / FlashStor</strong> implementation experience</li><li>Storage migration or optimization experience</li><li>PowerShell scripting related to backup, recovery, or infrastructure automation</li></ul><p><br></p>
