Steve Ankney is the Senior Vice President of U.S. Search Execution for Robert Half Executive Search, specializing in the identification and vetting of executive leaders and senior-level functional management professionals in the following professional disciplines: executive management, financial, operations, sales and marketing, technology, healthcare, legal, and human resources.

In his current role, Steve is responsible for the management, growth and development of all recruitment efforts throughout the United States. Steve is also responsible for assisting our various Robert Half Executive Search Managing Directors by conducting searches throughout the United States and internationally.

Experience

Having started his career with Robert Half’s Technology division in 2010, Steve has developed his recruitment skills to traverse many verticals outside of technology, including but not limited to finance and accounting, operations, science and engineering, executive leadership, and marketing.

Steve has acquired a strong network of contacts through his 10-plus years of creative and persistent recruiting efforts. With Steve’s unique contacts in different industries, he is able to identify top-level talent for his diverse blend of clients in multiple vertical industries and for our internal search execution team. In addition to using his network and experience, Steve’s technology education and experience has been influential to the success of our search process through the implementation of software, databases and other digital tools.

Prior to working at Robert Half, Steve was employed in quality assurance at a large domestic insurance company. During his time at the organization, Steve worked hand in hand with project managers and business analysts to develop and complete a major corporate rollout for one of their most established divisions.

Steve’s experience has allowed him to develop critical thinking and research skills that have been invaluable toward his success.

Personal and Professional Activities

Throughout his career, Steve has been an active member of professional advisory committees with multiple universities. He was influential in developing and supporting career services teams throughout the Midwest. Furthermore, Steve has been a key speaker for the Association of Information Technology Professionals and the Help Desk Institute on several occasions, discussing technology trends.

Steve is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in information systems and e-commerce.
