Michael Caggiano is a SVP, Senior Managing Director for Robert Half Executive Search. He also works with a variety of clients specializing in executive and senior level search engagements across a range of industries and functional areas. His areas of expertise include searches for CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, vice presidents and other senior-level positions for client companies. His industry expertise includes professional services firms, manufacturers, government contractors, nonprofit organizations, technology development companies, sports and entertainment groups, banking and financial institutions and private equity firms. Mike has operated as a trusted adviser, board member and consultant to executives of companies ranging from tens of millions to over a billion dollars in revenue.

Based in the Washington, D.C., office, Mike conducts searches both domestically and internationally. Mike is also in charge of the management and growth of our executive search field offices in the United States.

Experience

Mike’s background as a CEO, President, COO and CFO of various enterprises allows him to bring a unique range of experience to every search. He has worked for a range of companies; from well-funded, private equity-financed startups to Fortune 500 public companies. Mike has over three decades of experience – during which he has started, acquired, merged or sold over 30 firms. He has been on the boards of directors for banks, professional service firms, technology companies, foundations, and international nonprofits. He has also owned and operated three professional sports teams in baseball and hockey. Just prior to re-joining Robert Half, Mike was the President of an interim executive services company where he placed C-suite executives and senior level professionals with a wide variety of client companies.

Personal and Professional Activities

Mike graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and began his career with one of the Big Four accounting firms. Mike’s charitable work has included a board position with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Washington, D.C. – involving work on the Leukemia Ball (the largest nonpolitical fundraiser in Washington, D.C.) since its inception over 30 years ago. He has also served on the board and executive committee of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and the Washington Football Team Charitable Foundation. He was president of the Fathers Association of the Potomac School in McLean, Virginia; executive committee member and treasurer of Women Thrive Worldwide; and is the founder and a board member of Jewelry for Good. He has been quoted and featured in numerous publications and media outlets, including CNN, CNNfn, USA Today, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Dallas Morning News, Business Week, CBS MarketWatch, Washington Business Journal, Industry Week and HR Briefing, among many others. Mike is an avid outdoorsman and a general aviation pilot and plays golf and tennis.
