Payroll Administrator
<p>We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support a non-profit organization in West Vancouver, British Columbia. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong payroll knowledge, sound judgement, and the ability to manage payroll activities accurately across multiple entities. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while supporting compliance with statutory and benefits-related obligations.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Process end-to-end payroll for multiple organizations, ensuring earnings, deductions, and records are handled with precision and within established timelines.</p><p>• Administer required source deductions and remittances, including CPP, EI, income tax, and other statutory payroll obligations.</p><p>• Coordinate pension and benefits-related payroll entries and complete regular reconciliations to confirm accuracy.</p><p>• Prepare Records of Employment and maintain payroll documentation in accordance with legislative and organizational requirements.</p><p>• Work closely with managers across several business units to address payroll questions, confirm approvals, and resolve discrepancies.</p><p>• Review hourly and salaried payroll data, validate timesheet approvals, and ensure payroll changes are properly reflected before processing.</p><p>• Assist with payroll journal entries and support account reconciliations related to payroll and benefits activity.</p><p>• Use payroll and accounting systems effectively to maintain data integrity and support ongoing payroll operations in a hybrid work environment.</p>
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on payroll experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment.<br>• Solid understanding of Canadian payroll practices, including statutory remittances, taxable and tax-exempt earnings, and compliance requirements.<br>• Experience administering payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.<br>• Ability to research payroll legislation or policy questions independently and apply findings accurately.<br>• Familiarity with benefits administration, pension contributions, and payroll-related reconciliations.<br>• Proficiency with payroll and accounting systems; experience with UKG and NetSuite would be considered an asset.<br>• Strong Excel skills and a high level of accuracy when working with detailed payroll information.
