This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a blend of public practice and industry experience—for example, a current Controller looking to step into a broader, more strategic leadership role. You will oversee financial reporting, tax, and regulatory compliance while driving process improvements and system enhancements across the finance organization. Key Responsibilities• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.• Oversee corporate tax compliance and planning, including income tax, GST/HST, and other regulatory filings.• Manage regulatory reporting requirements and coordinate external audits with precision and efficiency.• Champion the modernization of financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities to automate workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support systems change projects to strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks.• Collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability, adaptability, and a culture of excellence.

Qualifications• CPA designation required.• Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally with a combination of public practice (Big 4 or mid-tier) and industry experience.• Experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Leader with readiness to step into a Director-level role within a complex or fast-paced organization.• Proven track record overseeing financial reporting, tax, and regulatory compliance in a complex environment.• Demonstrated experience with system implementation, upgrades, or finance transformation initiatives.• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.• A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
