Controller
<p>We are looking for an accomplished Controller to join a mining organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a 6 month Contract basis. This role will provide leadership across corporate accounting activities, with a strong focus on close processes, financial reporting accuracy, and operational improvements within finance. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, public company reporting experience and the ability to strengthen controls while supporting a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><p>• Oversee monthly and quarterly close activities to help ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule under IFRS.</p><p>• Provide key support for quarter-end and year-end accounting and audit preparation, including coordination of reporting requirements and supporting documentation.</p><p>• Lead initiatives that streamline finance operations by identifying inefficiencies and introducing improved processes.</p><p>• Design, implement, and refine accounting procedures and internal controls to strengthen departmental workflow and reporting reliability.</p><p>• Maintain and enhance consolidated revenue reporting models to support accurate financial analysis and reporting.</p><p>• Contribute technical accounting guidance in areas such as consolidations, public company reporting, and IFRS compliance.</p><p>• Partner with internal stakeholders to address accounting issues, prioritize deliverables, and support special finance projects as needed.</p>
<p>Requirements:</p><p><br></p><p>• Accounting designation such as CPA or an equivalent qualification.</p><p>• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.</p><p>• Demonstrated experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including audit support.</p><p>• Strong background in public company financial reporting, including financial statement preparation under IFRS.</p><p>• Experience working in multi-currency environments and handling complex consolidations.</p><p>• Solid understanding of internal controls, including exposure to SOX-related compliance requirements.</p><p>• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong technical accounting capability.</p><p>• Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
