<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a project based organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. This role will support core accounting operations across multiple entities, strengthen financial reporting practices, and provide practical leadership to the finance team. The successful candidate will play a key part in improving close processes, supporting sound decision-making, and maintaining a strong controls-focused environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• End-to-end accounting activities for a multi-entity operation in British Columbia, including consolidated reporting and reconciliation of intercompany and flow-through balances.</p><p>• Improve the month-end close cycle by establishing clearer ownership, shortening timelines, and ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting packages are completed accurately and on schedule.</p><p>• Advising on complex or infrequent transactions and confirming that treatment and supporting documentation meet required standards.</p><p>• Evaluate and refine accounting policies, departmental procedures, and internal control practices to increase consistency, accuracy, and operational efficiency.</p><p>• Support the delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reporting for leadership, with a focus on completeness, timeliness, and quality.</p><p>• Work closely with accounts payable, billing, and other finance personnel to define responsibilities, raise performance expectations, and encourage ongoing capability development.</p><p>• Conduct financial reviews and variance analysis to uncover underlying issues, explain results, and recommend actions that improve business and accounting outcomes.</p><p>• Provide responsive support to senior finance leadership through ad hoc reporting, analysis, and answers to financial and operational questions.</p><p>• Identify workflow bottlenecks and lead process improvement initiatives that enhance resource use and strengthen the overall effectiveness of the accounting function.</p><p>• Support a disciplined, high-accountability team culture by contributing to goal setting, monitoring performance, and reinforcing compliance with accounting standards and internal expectations.</p>

<p>• Proven experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of accounting operations, including consolidations, reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end close activities.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed variance analysis and provide clear explanations of financial results.</p><p>• Hands-on leadership experience supporting, guiding, and developing accounting or broader finance team members.</p><p>• Ability to prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making.</p><p>• Solid understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and best practices for maintaining accurate financial records.</p><p>• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and coordinate across multiple finance functions.</p><p><br></p><p>Should you believe you could add value to this client, then please reach out to Robert Half Management Resources, quoting &quot;05060-0013451165&quot; in all correspondences. </p>
