This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineering professional who enjoys working in a complex industrial environment and wants to take ownership of capital planning, engineering projects, maintenance initiatives, and team leadership.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY</strong></p><p><br></p><p>This role offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on the ongoing performance and future development of a large industrial facility. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and execute strategic plans for capital, infrastructure, and major expense projects.</li><li>Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the engineering team.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and direction to project and maintenance engineers and technologists throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Oversee projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Establish clear expectations for contractors related to safety, cost, quality, and performance.</li><li>Lead capital project and major maintenance planning and coordination.</li><li>Develop and maintain the site’s 5-year and 10-year capital and major maintenance plans.</li><li>Provide direction regarding the site’s approach to fixed asset inspection and maintenance.</li><li>Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders.</li><li>Support initiatives focused on safety, productivity, environmental performance, quality, and cost improvement.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, asset reliability, and overall site performance.</li></ul>

<p><strong>WHAT YOU BRING</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Our client is looking for an experienced engineering leader who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead people, projects, and external partners.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>You will ideally bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).</li><li>5+ years of progressive engineering experience, ideally with increasing leadership responsibility.</li><li>Experience working within heavy industrial environments; pulp mill experience is considered an asset.</li><li>Knowledge or experience with pressure vessels and/or steam systems is an asset.</li><li>Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of an organization.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.</li><li>Experience managing contractors and working with external engineering partners.</li><li>A valid driver’s license.</li></ul><p><strong>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>In addition, the organization offers:</strong></p><ul><li>Annual bonus opportunity</li><li>Comprehensive medical and dental benefits</li><li>Pension program</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Disability and accident insurance</li><li>Vacation and paid holidays</li><li>Long-term career development opportunities</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If this sounds like the role is for you, please apply today!
