<p>About the Role</p><p>Our Edmonton-based client is looking for a WordPress Developer to support the launch of their new website. This is a short-term, fully onsite contract focused on migrating and enhancing website content while ensuring a polished, user-friendly final product.</p><p>This role goes beyond simply transferring content. We&#39;re looking for someone with a strong eye for web design, user experience, and website best practices who can identify opportunities to improve navigation, page layouts, content organization, and overall usability throughout the project.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Migrate website content from an existing WordPress site into a new custom page builder (similar to Visual Composer).</li><li>Build and format new web pages while maintaining consistency across the site.</li><li>Optimize and resize images for web performance.</li><li>Ensure all content is accurate, responsive, and ready for launch across desktop and mobile devices.</li><li>Review pages for quality assurance, consistency, and functionality.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve website navigation, page layouts, user experience, and content organization.</li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure website content aligns with branding and business objectives.</li><li>Act as a second set of eyes throughout the website launch, providing recommendations rather than simply replicating existing content.</li><li>Troubleshoot formatting and layout issues as they arise.</li></ul>
<p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites.</li><li>Experience working with page builders, preferably Visual Composer or similar custom page builders.</li><li>Strong understanding of responsive web design principles.</li><li>Experience formatting web content, images, and page layouts.</li><li>Knowledge of website usability, UX/UI best practices, and information architecture.</li><li>Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and quality assurance skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul><p>Nice to Have</p><ul><li>Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.</li><li>Experience with SEO best practices for on-page content.</li><li>Experience supporting website launches or large-scale content migrations.</li></ul>
