Payroll Administrator
<p>Payroll & Finance Specialist (15–18 Month Contract)</p><p>Location: Edmonton, AB (On-site)</p><p>Full Benefits + Vacation from Day 1</p><p>Robert Half is partnering with a well-established, member-driven organization to recruit a Payroll & Finance Specialist for a 15–18 month contract. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative finance team supporting both a provincial office and a large network of affiliated organizations.</p><p>About the Organization</p><p>Our client operates with a centralized finance function supporting 169 independent units, each with its own funding structure. The finance team includes 2 Finance Officers and 8 team members, with strong tenured leadership and a focus on internal growth.</p><p>WKey Responsibilities</p><p>Payroll (Approx. 70%)</p><ul><li>Process bi-weekly payroll (~100 staff) and weekly member payroll (50–800 individuals depending on cycle)</li><li>Manage unionized payroll across 2 collective agreements</li><li>Handle high-volume payroll inquiries from staff and members</li><li>Calculate and maintain sick leave accruals</li><li>Prepare T4s (~3,500 annually) and T2200 forms</li><li>Process weekly staff expenses</li><li>Review and manage timesheets submitted through DMS</li></ul><p>Accounting & Operations</p><ul><li>Support accounts payable (rent, expenses, disbursements)</li><li>Administer monthly funding allocations</li><li>Code and reconcile employee benefits</li><li>Assist with year-end processes (January–December)</li></ul><p>Systems & Tools</p><ul><li>Microsoft Dynamics GP (transitioning to Business Central)</li></ul><p> Must-Haves</p><ul><li>PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner)</li><li>Experience working in a unionized environment</li><li>Strong experience with pension administration</li><li>Proven ability to handle high-volume payroll processing</li></ul><p><br></p>
