<p>We are seeking a mid-level Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer with strong, hands-on experience across cloud administration, automation, system integration, and application support. This role supports production GCP environments and participates in cloud migration initiatives, including on-premises to cloud and cloud-to-cloud migrations.</p><p><br></p><p>This position prioritizes real-world, operational experience over certifications. <p><strong>Data Center Technician (Field Analyst) (Evening Shift)</strong></p><p><strong>Locations:</strong> Ashburn, VA and/or Manassas, VA</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Tuesday–Saturday, <strong>5:00 PM – 1:00 AM</strong></p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>This role supports day-to-day <strong>data center operations (DCO)</strong> and infrastructure projects across Ashburn and Manassas facilities. The ideal candidate has <strong>end-to-end data center experience</strong>, in a variety of functions, and is comfortable working hands-on while coordinating with vendors and internal teams. The candidate must be able to work late hours and weekend shift, which will be defined and confirmed before the start of the contract to hire opportunity. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Perform cradle-to-grave infrastructure work: copper and fiber cabling (Cat5/6), rack & stack, testing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning</li><li>Support power events, capacity management, and new data center build-outs</li><li>Coordinate vendors, electrical contractors, and internal stakeholders</li><li>Create, track, and close infrastructure tickets and documentation</li></ul><p><br></p>
Job Functions:<br>· Manages infrastructure installation requests from initiation to closure<br>· Reports to the Infrastructure Manager. <br>· Supports building Power Downs/Single Sided Events.<br>· Certify infrastructure network connections and peripherals prior to handing off to DCS.<br>· Interface with the BAU team to provide any additional infrastructure<br>· Interface with the BU’s, Hines engineering.<br>· Coordinates work requests with electrical contractor to ensure all Service Levels are met.<br>· Provides detailed estimates of assigned projects, documents requirements through direct communication with other members of IT or Project Management team as well as interpretation of schematics and drawings.<br>· Create Tickets/TCMs & monitor for approval, Closeout/Cancel them once work is complete.<br>· Coordinate power remediation from start to completion.<br>· Assist with rack level capacity management and MOA monitoring.<br>· Participate in any and all meetings pertaining to BAU or projects INF work.<br>· Provides Root Cause Analysis reports regarding power issues.<br>· Coordinate the Infrastructure Installs including but not limited to the following:<br>• Survey for Power installs.<br>• Infrastructure & Rack installs.<br>• Survey for Infrastructure Cabling (Fiber and copper).<br>• New Data Center Build-outs.<br> <br>· Equipment Procurement:<br>• Responsible for the ordering of all infrastructure materials.<br>• Responsible for tracking Purchase Orders.<br>• Tracking Infrastructure Stock.
