<p>Senior Fund Accountant – Family Office</p><p>Overview:</p><p>A private family office is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support accounting, reporting, tax coordination, and cash management for its pooled investment vehicles (“the Funds”). This position will have a close working relationship with the accounting, payroll, and finance team members as well as leadership throughout the organization.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities and core functional areas</strong></p><ul><li>New contract setup and maintenance in our accounting systems including dissemination of new contract info to the rest of the accounting team.</li><li>Responsibility for centralized system-wide accounts receivable, ensuring that invoicing and receivable functions are administered with best practices.</li><li>In collaboration with the accounting manager, provide budget system inputting and reporting, as well as updates as needed.</li><li>Liaison between internal program managers, billing departments and government contract managers.</li><li>Responsibility for accounting and reporting for joint venture and sub-contractor partnerships, ensuring that timely payable and receivable processes occur, in close cross-functional working relationship with the Finance Manager.</li><li>Prepare documents for auditing as needed. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge in multi-state taxation, pass-through entities, and complex transaction analysis, along with the ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and examine intricate federal and state tax filings for individuals, partnerships, and corporate entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.<br>• Oversee pass-through entity tax calculations and filings while identifying practical strategies to improve tax efficiency.<br>• Evaluate property sale transactions, including gain calculations and related state tax implications across multiple jurisdictions.<br>• Maintain entity and transaction tax basis schedules and assess the impact of elections, adjustments, and structural changes.<br>• Review state-specific modifications, addbacks, apportionment factors, nexus positions, and composite filing requirements.<br>• Apply depreciation rules such as bonus depreciation and Section 179, and analyze book-to-tax adjustments including M-1 and M-3 reconciliations.<br>• Monitor passive activity losses, carryforwards, amended filings, tax notices, and audit responses to support ongoing client compliance.<br>• Develop year-end projections, recommend tax planning opportunities, and provide clear guidance on elections such as Section 754, like-kind exchanges, installment sales, and accounting method changes.<br>• Manage multiple client engagements independently, communicate complex tax matters clearly, and coordinate with attorneys, advisors, and other professionals as needed.<br>• Review the work of entry-level team members, offer technical coaching, and use tax software tools to streamline preparation, review, and workflow management.
