<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a retail organization in Irving on a 3 month contract with huge potential to extend. This role supports the monthly close cycle, oversees accrual-related accounting activities, and helps maintain accurate financial reporting across the business. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment in interpreting accounting impacts, and the ability to work effectively with leaders across multiple departments.</p><p>This is a 3-month contract position with potential for contract-to-hire</p><p>Onsite 5 days a week in Irving, Texas 75063.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Senior Accountant (contract position):</u></strong></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Lead month-end close activities by preparing and recording accruals so operating expenses are recognized in the correct accounting period.</p><p>• Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity each month, identifying significant variances and summarizing findings for leadership review.</p><p>• Examine a range of business agreements, including vendor, acquisition, divestiture, supply, and technology-related contracts, to determine appropriate accounting treatment.</p><p>• Reconcile high-volume general ledger accounts and drive timely resolution of outstanding items to support accurate financial statements.</p><p>• Partner with business process owners to validate accrued amounts, confirm open obligations, and ensure recurring costs are recorded by the proper service month.</p><p>• Review close checklists and related entries to confirm transactions are complete, not duplicated, and reversed correctly when required.</p><p>• Prepare balance sheet reclassifications, clearing entries, and post-close reporting packages to support proper account presentation after each close cycle.</p><p>• Respond to questions from management regarding profit and loss accruals, account activity, and monthly financial results.</p><p>• Support compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX procedures, including assistance with walkthroughs, testing, and process documentation updates.</p><p>• Contribute to quarterly and year-end reporting deliverables, including footnote support, forecast backup coverage, and other ad hoc analysis requested by leadership.</p><p>In addition, this position requires strong consolidations and intercompany experience, as well as equity accounting experience.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
